The Story

Anything can be enchanting if you only take a moment to get out of your own head to see them. I captured this picture while on a walk through my neighborhood. I had stopped to kneel down to take a different picture and before standing up I stopped a moment to look around and see the world from a different perspective and I saw this. It's just a rock garden along the side of an apartment building, but by seeing it from closer to the ground, I was able to see it with a brand new set of eyes. Sometimes we just need to explore the world from a different perspective than the one we are used to.

The Product

These silky-soft pillow shams are what every bed didn't know it was missing. Our shams are available in 2 sizes a standard size and a king size. Cozy up and drift off to sleep in luxurious comfort with our new cotton sateen bed pillow shams.

Care instructions

• For first washing, rinse separately from other laundry with cold water.
• Following the rinse, run a normal cycle with cold water and detergent.
• Machine dry on high.
• Wash normally in cold water for subsequent washings.
• Can be dry cleaned.
• Do not bleach.

All our pillows are made with in a reactive printing process instead of pigment printing. Here's why:

Reactive Printing 

Reactive printing is a multistep process formulated for printing on natural fabrics. It involves 4 main steps: pretreating fabrics, printing, steaming and washing.

It’s a long process but it’s worth it! All fabrics printed with a reactive process are fully washable with no fading and perfectly soft and ready to use for any project.

Pigment Printing

Unlike the reactive process detailed above, pigment printing is a short cut for natural fabric printing. It results in surface prints on natural fabrics where the inks do not penetrate into the fibers. While it is a fast process, pigment inks are not wash-fast and will fade with washing and rubbing. 

Environment Impact of Reactive On-demand Printing

Our pillow shams are printed on demand, which creates less impact on the environment. Reactive printing on-demand is a low waste process. Since every meter we print is for a specific customer, we never have overstock or deadstock.

Fabrics that we pretreat incorrectly can simply be washed and retreated. Our washing machinery recirculates water to minimize water usage. The steamer uses less than 40 liters of water most production days. We use natural gas heaters to power the printer heater and practice widely accepted energy saving techniques daily within our facility including recycling all cardboard, papers, and plastics.
